Q: I am trying to
post a bank payment to my petty cash account, but get
the message "Bank account selection is not permitted".
What should I do?
A: You cannot use the Bank Payment,
or Bank Receipt options to move money between the codes
listed on the Bank Accounts window. In the Sage Line 50
Bank Accounts module, there is an option called Transfer,
which has been designed to allow you to move money between
bank and cash accounts. To use this option, from the main
Sage Line 50 toolbar click Bank, then from the Bank toolbar
click Transfer. Enter the information as appropriate in
the Bank Transfer window, or to open the Bank Transfer
Wizard, which will guide you through this process, click
Wizard.
Q: When I click
Statement from the Bank toolbar, I get a message saying
"No information found for this report". Why is this?
A: The Bank Statement is a report
which shows all Bank Reconciled transactions. If you receive
this message when you run the report it means that you
either have no Bank Reconciled transactions within the
specified criteria, or you have highlighted the wrong
bank account from the list of bank accounts before running
the report.
Q: I need a report
that shows all of the journals that I have posted within
the last month. Is this possible?
A: Yes, there is a report within
Sage Line 50 which displays all of the journals entries.
To run this report, from the main Sage Sage Line 50 toolbar,
click Nominal, then from the Nominal toolbar, click Reports.
A list of reports is displayed, from this list select
the Day Books: Nominal Ledger report, select the required
Output and click Run.This report only shows transactions
types JD and JC. Tip: To run the report for selected
nominal codes, click the relevant codes from the nominal
list before running the report.
Q: Is it possible
to post transactions into the new year before running
the year end?
A: Yes, you are able to post transactions
into the new financial year before running the year end.
Because the program is date sensitive the transactions
you post in the new financial year will be held in a future
"area". When you run the year end, these transactions
are then posted to the correct month, according to the
transaction date.
Q: When I run my
VAT return I get a message stating that unreconciled transactions
have been found from before the specified period, what
does this mean?
A: This means that either:
1. You have posted transactions dated in the previous
period after you reconciled your VAT Return. These should
then be included in the current return.
2. You have just started to use the VAT return
option, or have not set the VAT reconciliation flags when
running previous returns.
Q: All of my product
prices have increased by 2%, is there an easy way to enter
this into Sage Line 50?
A: Yes, if you open the Tools menu
from the main Sage Line 50 menu bar, choose Global Changes
then Product Sales Prices you will activate a wizard that
allows you to increase your selling prices by a percentage
or an amount. In the wizard you can increase the selling
